# Auto Page Layout
The Page Auto Layout section provides settings for the auto layout feature.
- Page padding - How much space should be kept between the page edge and each element. This should be kept at 10mm or more to prevent page bleed (opens new window).
- Spacing - How much space to place between elements on the page.
The Auto Layout All Pages button applies an auto layout to each page of the book, with the exception of the front and back covers.
Page Layout is used to rearrange (or "shuffle") the position of elements on a page. It does not change the contents of the page or any styling (e.g., colours, fonts, borders, etc.).
Below each page is a shuffle button, and is indicated by the numbers 1
and 2
.
Layouts are somewhat random and clicking the button multiple times will often yield different results. Simply keep clicking until you get a result you like.
If a layout is not to your liking you can still drag, resize, move, or hide the components of a page. See the help page on Custom Editing and Constraints for details.
