# Tracking a Tour
# My Maps
The My Maps section lets you list, open, and create your maps. Create a new map by tapping the "Add Map" button at the bottom of the screen.
Maps have three visibility settings:
- Public maps are openly listed in the app and on the TrackMyTour website for other users to discover and follow.
- Limited, anyone with the link maps are technically visible by anyone, but only if they know or guess the link. These maps are not listed in the app or on the TrackMyTour website.
- Private, only me maps can only be view by you.
# Add Waypoints
Once you have created a map you can add waypoints to it. Waypoints are analogous to pushing a pin into a map. Each waypoint can be annotated with text, photos, and some additional metadata.
Tap the Add Waypoint button to create a new waypoint.
The fields are as follows:
- Map - select the target map (defaults to the map last selected)
- Caption - write a caption for the waypoint (markdown (opens new window) is supported)
- Waypoint Type - select a waypoint type icon
- Weather - optional, select a weather icon
- Date & Time - set the waypoint date (defaults to now)
- Location - set the waypoint location (defaults to present location)
- GPS Accuracy - information on the gps location accuracy
- Photos - add photos, reposition, and remove
A few notes about photos:
- Geotagged photos can be tapped to reposition the waypoint to the date and location of the photo.
- Press and hold a photo reposition it.
Tap Publish to publish the waypoint immediately
Tap Save Draft to save the waypoint for publishing later. This is useful if network access isn't available, or if further edits are required.
