Finally a cheap campsite with electricity!
In the Soca Valley!
Camping inside castle ruins!
Bicycle break down in Switzerland in the middle of the Alps. Kyle can't fix it - his pedals are resistant to pedaling forward and making a screeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeech sound all through the most fantastic beauty imaginable. Can't find WiFi, Bike shop, and Switzerland is expensive as hell. ....So we take a train to Italy to get the bike fixed.
We made it to the end of the lake at least.
Warm Showers in Lucerne!
Massive hills in The Alps! Now resting.
Detoured to catch a slice of Germany for a day.
Storms coming...time to blog!
Waiting out the rain. Thunderstorm in France!
Searching for drinkable water in Dole.
Taking a break in Dijon before continuing onward towards Switzerland.
At another municipal campground. $15 US dollars for a beautiful backdrop, free wifi, tennis courts, swimming pool, and all kinds of other goodies. Too cheap to resist!
Had dinner with fellow camp friends from Belgium. We may have even cycled through their hometown!
Testing out official camping in France!
Camped in a field with a beautiful vista over town. The full moon had Kyle entranced.
In Fountainbleau writing postcards and taking in our morning coffee.
Biked to Lille to catch a train to Paris. Trying to escape clouds, rain and gloom by going South and seeing an amazing city.
Splurged on a hotel room due to rain and cold. Thankfully, it came with access to pool and sauna! Oh Priceline, we love you on Sunday nights.
Staying with Warm Showers hosts just outside of Ghent. Partied hard last night in the city!
In Bruges at a hostel so we can catch up with blogging and stay out of the rain.
Beautiful sunset at the beach in Belgium.
Enjoying one of our last days on the coast for a while.
Last minute camp in the woods.
Camped in a forest off the coast.

Having a cup of coffee prior to our train to Bristol. Yes, we are cheating, but we got behind when we stopped at so many cool towns!
Eating lunch in the sunshine!
Set up camp in a country park.
Beautiful day at Bridgnorth.
Touring the heart of the Industrial Revolution!
Camped just outside of Shrewsbury, but forgot to take any kind of picture. Whoops!
Drying out (or maybe just getting wetter) in Bala.
Hanging out in Porthmadog until our interview with the head of planning for Snowdonia National Park in Wales on Monday morning.
Still in Anglesey, Wales, making our way towards Snowdonia.
Arrived by ferry!
Took the train to Dublin, now off to the ferry!
At the Sleepzone hostel in Galway!
At Rowan Tree Hostel in Ennis with a broken derailleur. Decided to make the best of it and go out to dinner last night. Afterwards we finally caught some traditional Irish music at Cruises. Now we are just waiting on the bike.
Concentrating hard at The Buttery, a local cafe in Limerick.
Camped alongside the Great Southern Rail Trail, and look who came out to greet us! Unfortunately, while the horses were friendly, the gnats weren't. We almost got eaten alive. Thankfully, we had picked up a bottle of wine at the store so we were too buzzed to care;)
What an amazing view of the Atlantic! We didn't have time to cycle the Dingle Peninsula, so this was the compromise. Finally made it to the coast!
At our hostel in Killarney. Excited to go explore the national park!
Got rained on in Macroom. Thankfully they have a lovely park by the river! In the town drinking our morning coffee currently.
Arrived in Cork!
Taking a midday break at The Rustic Cafe in Lismore on our way to Cork.
Only place open in Clonmel this early is the McDonald's! Finally managed to stealth camp last night, but couldn't find any water so here we are for our morning coffee;)
Found WiFi at a coffee house in Kilkenny!
We decided to leave Dublin (weren't hearing back from any planners), so now we are in Kilcullen resting at the River Cafe (the lights are upside down tea kettles!) as we figure out dinner and a campsite.
Great pub! Yes, there were a lot of tourists, but so what. The type of atmosphere created by a couple of rowdy Scots in kilts and rooms packed full of people drunkingly singing along to a decent selection of oldies just can't be missed. However, I will say that McGurk's in St. Louis continues to be my all time favorite Irish Bar. Great atmosphere, great traditional Irish music, and cheaper drinks;)
Of course we had to try out the pub scene! In an attempt to avoid the over "touristy" Temple Bar, we first went to Mulligan's, a bar with the "best pint of Guinness in town." Our impression? It was a pub. Next stop, Temple Bar!
Had a picnic lunch along the River Liffey, flowing through the center of Dublin. It got quite exciting when a bunch of teens in wetsuits were busted by the police. Kyle thinks it had something to do with a stolen cellphone. What was cool about the riverfront were the many interesting bridges.
Went to Merrion Square to check out the weekly sidewalk art fair. The park itself was beautiful with the surrounding city completely shut out by the landscape. The paths were paved in old cobblestones taken from Dublin's earlier days and old street lamps from different time periods were distributed throughout the park.
At the Kinlay Hostel for the night in Dublin! Arrived at the airport at 7:10 AM and spent an hour or so building our bikes before cycling to the center of Dublin. Spent the day walking around town, eating delicious crepes, and napping in a park.
