Day 125. Ottawa, IL. Hanging with Brad, Kim, and Matt P. Matt asks if we think we can finish his bottle of whisky today. We laugh.
Day 123. Still in Milan, IL. That rain ain't doing us any favors. But sometimes friends will. Treat us to a hotel room? Sure! We now get to soak up the ambience of the Quad Cities Airport!
Day 123. Milan, IL. The rain today is horrible. Never thought 10 miles would be this hard. Hiding out from it for a bit.
Day 123. Taylors Ridge, IL. Underestimated distance yesterday, ended up doing 67 miles. 25 miles in the dark. Felt like Ed. Getting ready to ride in the rain.

Day 119. Iowa City! Now we "rest" for a few days and soak up the ambience of this college town.

Day 117. Guttenberg, Iowa. Hills. Corn. Headwind. Corn. Small towns. Welcome to Iowa.
Day 116. Prairie du Chien, WI. The charms of La Crosse pulled us in so we spent an extra day. Today was a lovely 60 mile day biking down the Mississippi. Bluffs and views abound. Splurged tonight and got a motel room, third one for the trip.

Day 99. Bemidji, MN. Today we waded, yes waded! across the Mississippi. Had fun @ Itasca. Now enjoying hospitality in this lake town.
Day 98. Itasca State Park, MN. Lake Itasca, headwaters of the Mighty Mississippi. Here it is just a trickle. Nothing like a shower and a hostel bed to end a 58 mile day!
Day 98. Fosston, MN. Hot and humid. Scary thunderstorm overnight. Welcome to the Midwest. But the countryside has started to roll...
Day 97. Erskine, MN. Shorter day than expected. But who thought an Anheiser-Busch product could taste so good?
Day 97. Thief River Falls, MN. Flat. Flat. Flat. But when you had a headwind like we did yesterday, the riding is brutal. Lake Itasca tomorrow.
Day 88 WINNIPEG, finally! Cheated and hitched a ride from Neepawa, cutting out almost 2 days of riding. I've ridden on some sketchy roads before, but Manitoba takes the cake. Now we got a few days to spend in town.
Day 87. Erickson, MB. I think Wesley Willis once said Manitoba's roads suck donkey dick. Good thing we found this rail trail...
Day 86. Onanole, MB. Rode through Riding Mtn. Nat'l. Park. Intended to camp in the main campground. Overrun. By. Drunk. Douchebags. Ran. Camping now through the generosity of others.
Day 84. Manitoba, finally! Roblin to be exact. First real hill in weeks, had to use the granny for 10 mins.
Day 82. Wynyard, SK. A fierce 25 mph wind is blowin' at our back, making riding easy! Taking a break for root beer.
Day 81. Jansen, SK. 65 miles further to Winnipeg. Got to see some potash mines in the distance. Enjoying some fine hospitality.

Day 46. Waterton Lakes National Park. After spending a few more days in Glacier we crossed into Canada. Enjoying an off day at this beautiful spot. Ground squirrels galore! Leaving tomorrow, should be in Calgary by weekend.
Day 42. Still @ Brownies Hostel. Getting ready to ride to Two Medicine Lake in Glacier NP. Short ride: 13 miles.
Day 40. East Glacier Park, MT. 50 miles today. We crossed The Continental Divide! Woot! Atlantic flowing waters. Marias Pass would have been a piece o cake, if not for the construction and Mosquitos on top.
Day 40. Essex, MT. Brief pitstop @ Issac Walton Inn. Cool old railroad hotel. Now need to cross Continental Divide (Marias Pass) and get to East Glacier by dark!
Day 38. Whitefish, MT. Yesterday's ride alternated between good and bad. Whitefish is a cute town we wish we could spend more time in. But we will soon ride 30 miles to Glacier National Park!
Day 37. Just spent the night in Swan Lake, MT. Getting ready to ride 50 miles into Whitefish. Scenery is gorgeous. All those craggy mountains I love. Too bad it feels like we're both getting sick. :-(

Day 27. Wallace, ID. An old mining town where they have a museum for the brothels that occupied the town. Pulled a short day. Now enjoying a beer in a local brewery.
Day 27. Kellogg, ID. still on a nice rail-trail. The remnants of the mining industry abound, as we are warned that the soil and water is contaminated with lead. Saw our first moose yesterday!
Day 26. Harrison, ID. Just spent the first half of the day winding along the east shore of Lake Coeur d'Alene. Now we start on a rail-trail. Hope to camp in Enaville, 30 miles down the path.
Day 25. Couer d'Alene, ID. Lakefront resort town. Lots of tan rich people and bored teens. Trying to get out as fast as possible. Camping somewhere beyond tonight.
Day 24 into 25. East Orchards, WA, somewhere between Spokane and Couer d'Alene, staying w/Warmshowers hosts. Short 20 mile day and my first flat after almost 800 miles of riding.
Day 22. Spokane. Off day. John & Leah are the most gracious hosts! Eating some food, then exploring the city.
Day 21. Outer outskirts of Spokane. Hastings @ US 395. Stuffing our faces w/food and waiting for a ride as April's shoulders are killing her (we still have 10 miles through suburbia to go.)

Omak WA. Taking advantage of free wifi @ mcdoom. Day 18.
