Bomb scare at the bell house so this is as close as I get. Not very adept handling of evacuation by park rangers. People will cooperate if you give them a word of explanation. There's no need to get all Attila the Hun on their innocent asses. And because of the traditions represented here, if you yell at Americans, they tell back. Fun to watch, as an outsider.

I think better of him for setting his unacknowledged slave offspring free when they were 21 with a grant of $50. All but one of them entered white society apparently. i think less well of him for being such a fool with money. If more prudent, he could have released all his slaves, given that he affected such repugnance for the institution on which his lavish life depended. I like his house though. And nowhere on the tour has made me think more.

"Why do we hear the greatest yelps for liberty from the drivers of negro slaves". And DNA now shows, the father of them too. Great prose style though, hypocrite that he was. Welsh descent may account for both the prose style and the hypocrisy.

Congratulations. What a journey. You'll dine out on it for years.

I expect you are off to the town of the "Louisville Lip" next . What an inspiration Ali has been.

Trust you are playing Space Oddity now!! - sensational.

Enjoy the Mississippi!!

GR

Fancy Rounders? LOL. Bite your tongue! I found the Baseball Hall of Fame a trifle tedious in the minutiae but it was interesting to a point and Cooperstown was delightful.

This is fun. America is as friendly (so far) as it is vast. And driving Route 20 is just so cool.

Duh! Sorry. It helps if one refreshes the page before opening one's mouth!

Are you lost already? Or just having too much fun to keep us up-to-date? :)

GO SPERANZA...GO !
