On top of our longest distance yet were two tough 1200 ft climbs as well as a stubborn head/cross wind that was easily 35 mph. We even saw a sand storm taller than a mountain. • Hey Guys,

Just a quick note to say it was very special to host you guys in St. Louis. You made a great impression and made us all proud here in the show me state. The fundraiser was terrific and getting to know the families who have enjoyed the special trips provided by the Make a Wish Foundation brought it all home for us. What a special and touching moment it was for me to see you guys holding Jamie for that great picture, and seeing all of you so emotional about the wonderful things you are doing on this trip. God Bless and take care of each other. We all look forward to a picture with you guys in Halloween apparel dipping your tires into the Atlantic. Enjoy!

Here are some you could do with a beard: Gorton's Fisherman, Santa Claus, Pirate, Leprechaun, Jesus, Uncle Sam, Abe Lincoln, Viking or Bearded Circus Lady. Mark said the Headless Horseman would be cool. Lauren said you should be a Bumblebee. Can't wait to see what you decide. Surprise us with photos!

  • Joseph and Gregg,

I wanted to get credit for the blog contribution furthest from your actual path. I arrived in Shanghai, China about 3 hours ago, Sunday afternoon. China is 12 hours ahead of the U.S. East Coast, or 11 for central time, and so on. It is about 2:00a on Sunday morning guessing where I think you guys would be and time zone.

You would feel right at home in China. Lots of autos, but still lots of bicycles, some configured as pick up trucks with long frames and side boards.

Really proud of what you guys are doing. You are doing a good thing in raising money, but you are doing a good thing for yourselves. This is an adventure you will long remember and always cherish.

I have friends who ride in an annual bike across Iowa trip. You could schedule Iowa next.

Be safe, have fun and you gotta be losing weight.

    Regards,

    Alex Weaver
