Just met Tom Parsons and his wife - owners of the Heirloom Bed & Breakfast that I'll be staying at here in Comfort. Great journey here. Now time for rest and recuperation!

Noon finds me at the Waring General Store where I will rest, hydrate and consume a burger! Very slow moving due to heat.

Pulled into The SmittyVille General Store and was instantly greeted by the owner who said cyclists get a free bottle of water. Music to my ears. Bought a Gatorade and feeling much better now that I've rested in the shade.

Finding shady spots to hydrate and cool down. Soon will be off the IH-10 access road which should cool things off. Lots of hill climbing at the moment.

On the HOT IH-10 access road making a slow, gradual climb northbound. Hydrating and resting more often now as heat rapidly increases.

Two-night, short bicycle tour from San Antonio to the small town of Comfort, TX. This is my sixth bicycle tour. These small tours are practice for upcoming, longer self-supported tours.
