This brought back some fun memories of being in Key West with my sister Jean my niece Shelly and her friend Richard and my daughter Jamie who was at the time pre drinking age. Shelly's friend Richard spent the evening buying drinks for under aged Jamie behind my back. We had planned on going back to Key Largo that night but ended up getting a hotel room. The kids hung out at the pool until about 4 AM. My sister made a lot of money for the street drummers filling in and drumming for them for a while. She drew huge crowds while Shelly was breakdancing in the street. Way too much fun!!

This is our new address for the next couple of months. We'd love to hear from everyone. I've already been snorkeling but only because I dropped Sandy's bike lock in the water, about 20 feet, this restaurant has underwater lights so a ton of fish, I expect they would frown on spear fishing under the glass button restaurant but it would be easy.

Amazing docking job Captain Tucker with little or no help from an inexperienced (in training) dock hand! Lol. Very tight spot!! We have a special code when the dock hand does not know what he is doing. I tell Kevin to remind me to buy broccoli while in town. Very nice guy but Amelia Island Marina is not used to transient boaters but getting a lot of them now since the beautiful Fernandina Harbor Marina is closed due to hurricane damage.

We stayed at a tiny marina in Townsend, GA. The owner, Henry came out in his skiff and led us in through a windy canal 6 miles long. Lol. Nicest guy, he gave us a 110 extension card to hook our boat up to electric. Definitely a dock to use fender boards. Thanks again Tom Hill! Surprised we didn't find this marina in any of the books. We were the only boat there except for one that was for sale. We were just happy we didn't have to anchor out in Georgias crazy currents.

Tuesday 25 Oct 2016 9:34

Short trip today! Have never said goodbye so many times. Back to Cape Henry Shores. Beautiful day in the neighborhood but not in the bay. We actually took water over the upper helm.

Back in CHS this morning we were able to hook up with our neighborhood bikers for our daily bike ride. There is still lots of standing water in the state park due to Hurricane Matthew. Virginia Beach really took a hit! We were out of power for five days while trying to prepare for our departure. Many of our friends had devastating damage. Prayers are with you all!

Fortunately the Chesapeake Bay can be one of the worst parts of this trip. Most of it is not on open waters like the bay but in protected ICW canals. Looks like tomorrow will be a perfect day to make the crossing. Plan to spend the night in Portsmouth. Hoping some of their free docking is open. Maybe check out the Commodore for a movie. The Accountant with Ben Afleck is playing -have heard it is good.

We started our trip on October 13 going to the awesome Hampton Snowbird Rendezvous and enjoyed a few days of boating classes with other boaters heading south. We were recommended at the end of rendezvous that if we had a place to dock that we should wait a few days to allow the 80 plus boaters to clear out. There were so many boaters bc many would have left earlier without the hurricane. Now we have the issue of many boaters, marinas closed due to damage from the hurricane and lots of debris in the water from broken piers etc.

To me this was a godsend. I had just returned from 21 days in Thailand with my 2 daughters returning Oct 4th so had only 10 days to get ready to leave my house for 6 months. I had an automobile accident one week before going to Thailand and fractured a rib so was not able to use that time to ready our home. Lol.

By the way, our beautiful Virginia Beach home is still a available for rent for six months, fully furnished 5 BR 4 BA. Awesome deal including utilities, cable and WiFi. Let me know you you know someone who may be interested. I'll send details.

Tomorrow looks great - so one day at a time..........

Breathe deeply and often......."

So ur heading bak and not going up the Gulf coast to Mobile Bay and possibly NOLA

Love the pics especially Kevin and the pup with sunglasses ❤

Love your residence for February! It is 39 here today, but we usually have a nice, 60 degree sunny day once a week.

Was thinking of you on Saturday when we attended the annual gala at Chris's school. We had fun with you last year! This year's theme was Mardi Gras. We wore masks, won a few auction items and had a nice evening.

Can't wait for your return.

Mary

We are planning on trip south on icw to Marco island on the 14 th⚓️⚓️⚓️

Sure we love new friends especially ones who have boat docks!

Love the pics! I have wonderful cousins on kiawah who just built a home with a boat dock at the very southern end of the island if you need some friends. Also world travelers.

Do you realize you are docked about a mile from Crazy Dave and Lisa Witt??

Have a grand time and enjoy your trip to the fullest !

You're too funny SeaStar! Haha

We have been having wonderful vicarious fun on this trip with you two - just a little worn out so really happy for the recent time change so we could sleep in longer without guilt.

Much Love SIS,

Jean and Alfie

We enjoyed our time together so very much and enjoyed meeting your super nice friends. Take care and keep us posted. ENJOY

We miss you in VAB but I can see that you are having a fabulous time. The CHS trick or treaters missed the XL candy bars on Halloween! It is starting to get cold here, so I'm sure you are happy heading into warmer weather.

You will be going by The Baba Center about now right after Briarer Cliff in North Myrtle beach. Look up Baba Center on Google
